American Tours & Travel, Inc. typically follows the direction of the school officials, and asks that students abide by their school’s Code of Conduct while travelling or performing. We do not usually have issues with behavior and misconduct as student performers tend to be extremely well-behaved and maintain a sense of decorum and professionalism while at an event or festival.
We do, however, recommend that there be at least one chaperone per ten students. Students typically sleep four to a room, with chaperones normally two per room. We then coordinate the location of student and chaperone rooms, so that each cluster of student rooms is broken up by a room of adult chaperones.
Every member of the group travels together; going somewhere alone is not allowed. This ensures the safety of everyone involved. Any student that misbehaves will have to abide by the punishment assigned by an administrator. Sometimes, the administrators elect to send a misbehaving student home. We will help to secure the arrangements, but the charges will be at the expense of the student and his/her parents. It is very rare that we have had to deal with this situation.
